What is the weapon and how does it work?
A tank is a steel-plated war vehicle designed for front line battles, with substantial fire power and strong armor that provide battlefield maneuverability. Tanks can speed through rough terrain with a revolving metal band that's turns to create mobility. An opening at the top creates soldier access to the inside. The inside contains control panels that control the movement and the firing of bullets from the tank. Tanks are heavy vehicles that have the ability to crush anything in their path which make them crucial to the war.

Tanks War Impact and Consequence
Tanks made their first appearance in World War One used by the British. They were used to break the deadlock of trench warfare in the western front. Tanks were occasionally unreliable because of how new they were in war. They would sometimes get stuck of extremely tough terrain or randomly stop working. Eventually, this problem was fixed and tanks made a bigger appearance in World War One. Tanks gave soldiers safer transportation during the war. Tanks also were used majorly in the western front. Tanks brought mobility into war and changed the way countries fight forever.

How did tanks affect soldiers on the front line?
Tanks were dangerous machines that made combat unpredictable. The fear of not knowing was scarier than actual war to some soldiers, which is known by diary entires that have been uncovered by historians. Since these machines were so large and unpredictable, many soldiers feared them.

How did tanks affect the leaders of warring nations?
Since tanks are so unpredictable, this made making war plans difficult. Especially against attacking nations that use this mobile war vehicle. It was also hard to make war plans around vehicles that are constantly in motion. The leaders had to plan accordingly to make attacking around these tanks possible.

How did tanks affect civilians near front lines?
As strange as it seems, civilians did play a major part in World War One. Soldiers often times wrote to their family members which gave the family a feel of very much like the soldiers were feeling. Tanks were mentioned in those letters as unpredictable and dangerous. That made family members have a fear towards the tanks just like the soldiers did.

How have tanks improved since WW1?
Tanks and tactics of war have undergone many generations of changes since World War One. Tanks have gradually evolved into being used for Calvary, flanks being formed against opposing armies, and they were used to penetrate defense. Tanks have become more expensive to operate and support but they also have become more effective. Tanks have become lighter, and better in firepower and better in protection. Tanks have also gained the ability to take on rough obstacles and bettered in overall battlefield mobility. They also have the ability to identify, engage, and destroy targets more efficiently.
How are tanks being used today?
Tanks have become a dominate unit on the battlefield. They are currently a significant factor in warfare, both tactically and operationally. At the end of World War Two, there was a major primarily tank battle called the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. It was a battle that fought between mainly different kinds of tanks. Tanks are essential in just about every modern conflict that calls for battle.
